Australia's Great Ocean Road
The Great Otway National Park follows the winding curves of Victoria’s famous Great Ocean Road. Coastal towns such as Lorne, Wye River, Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay nestle into rolling green hills, some cleared, some densely forested, providing a dramatic backdrop for the coastal swells of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. The Great Ocean Road is one of Victoria’s most popular tourist destinations. The journey starts at the beginning of the trail and travels westward sequentially for 57 miles until you reach the 12 Apostles six days later. Breathe fresh air, marvel at the power of the waves crashing on the cliffs, then stand on the edge of the 12 Apostles, put your face to the wind and realize there is nothing but ocean between you and the wilds of Antarctica.
